Mary Lou Color Me Happy retreat- Spokane Valley, Washington June 12th - 16th.
We always pick some kind of a fun theme for food and prizes and a free pattern. This retreat will have a chicken theme. This has nothing to do with what you choose to work on unless you want to do chickens. We love anything happy, fun, sentimental and sweet. :0)
Fly or drive in on Saturday to prepare for the fun Sunday to see the sites in Spokane and Spokane Valley. Lots to see and do. If you like to shop I would suggest visiting downtown Spokane which is on the river and beautiful.
Day 1 Tour fun places like Davenport Hotel and quilts Shops and Collectibles Shops- Dinner at Mexican Restaurant that night after dropping off our quilt supples in Millwood. A Charming Town that has a Latte Bakery two blocks from where we sew and a Farmers Market in the Parking Lot of where we will be on Wed.
Day Two Story Quilts How to's and new Quilts Shown by Mary Lou-New Patterns and ideas for everyone in Workshop. If you would like to design a Christmas tree, I will provide a pattern and ideas. These are awesome and fun too.
Prizes that I have purchased that are FUN and will have fabric from my favorite companies. Meals by Miss Tina who will fly in from LA area to cook and bake- she is amazing and she will provide a cookbook for everyone. I believe that Nettie may be flying in as well to help cook and with sewing inspirations. She is an awesome quilter with lots of ideas.
Day three- drawing ideas and a trip to Coeur d'Alene and Dockside- a delicious restaurant on the Lake. We will visit the quilt shop there and enjoy that afternoon. Mary Lou will pay for this meal (not alcohol - sorry). They have fabulous huckleberry milkshakes. :0) This is always fun and a good opportunity for photos. :0)
Day four - Sewing and Eating and Laughing and Design enhancement ideas for your Story.
Day five- works all day and then wind things up and either go home or stay the night and we can meet for dinner or not. You may be too tired and full to eat. Is that possible?
We are going to have fun with the chicken theme- I have found that chickens are good friends to each other, love to roam, see what other chickens are doing and they love to eat and fluff. Stay tuned.
You will be responsible for your own hotel- I can give you two recommendations- Quality Inn on Mission and Argonne OR Holiday Inn Off Argonne on Mission. We are close to both locations.
If the weather is decent as in lots of sunshine- I would like to host a little wine/sparkling lemonade evening on my deck. We'll see. Would be greAT FUN!
